Kentucky auditor recommends changes in Medicaid program

Just a few months into Kentucky’s roll-out of Medicaid managed care, a state auditor is already recommending changes. This development underscores two issues that relate to the growth of Medicaid managed care:

1) It is not going to be easy to start up new operations in expansion states. Care management will be especially difficult to ramp up.

2) States won’t take long to look at the roll-out and start making changes and modifications. Medicaid organizations will have to operate lean and flexible to keep within their launch budgets.
